Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. is proud to announce the release of the newest performance leader for single axis and 1.5 axis control, the MR-MQ100 motion controller. The MR-MQ100 controller is perfect for packaging applications such as feed-to-length, roll feeding, bag making, press feed, flying cut-off, random in-feed, form-fill-seal, linear slide, indexing conveyors, rotary table and much more. Combined with the power of the MR-J3-B series servo amplifier utilizing the SSCNETIII fiber optic communication network, the MR-MQ100 offers high-end features and performance in a compact, cost-competitive product.
Today’s end users require not only a powerful CPU to boost functionality and performance, but also a higher throughput for entire systems. The MR-MQ100 fits this need. It can be used for basic to advanced motion control functions, including high-speed external encoder mark registration and electronic CAM profiling for many industrial applications. The MR-MQ100 shares a common programming language with the Mitsubishi Q Series, iQ Series platforms and the Q170MCPU, as well as future products, ensuring quick set-up modes, easy programming, and reduced start-up times.

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of our Q170MCPU stand-alone motion controller. This new controller completely fills the need for a stand-alone unit with built in motion and logic control. The development concept is based on a compact unit with built in power supply, motion and logic control, Ethernet network, external encoder interface and high speed registration inputs enabling OEM’s to design a high-performance system in a more compact footprint. The Q170MCPU also has the ability to be easily integrated into 3rd party control platforms by utilizing the built-in Ethernet network and auxiliary gateway modules such as the ETH-1000 Ethernet IP gateway.
The Q170MCPU has a very high performance motion CPU equivalent to our iQ Platform motion CPU the Q172D and can be connected to our MR-J3-B series servos over Mitsubishi Electric’s servo system control network (SSCNET III). In terms of programming software, MT-Developer2, MR-Configurator and GX-Developer2 may be used with the new motion controller. This allows programming of motion profiles by using sequential functional chart and mechanical editor language, the same as our traditional PLC-based motion controllers. The Q170MCPU shares a common programming language with the Q series, iQ platform and MR-MQ100 (1.5 axis controller) to ensure faster set up and easy programming. The QD81DL96 is the newest addition to Mitsubishi’s e-F@ctory concept. Paired with a QnU “Universal” iQ Platform Sequence CPU, the High-Speed Data Logger module automatically synchronizes itself with the host CPU scan cycle to allow data sampling rates as low as 1ms. The module can monitor up to 64 individual CPUs time-synchronized (SNTP) across multiple networks, storing its logged data in a special high-speed 8GB Compact Flash card. The logged data can then be remotely accessible using an FTP client/server or the module’s built-in e-mail functionality. For even further convenience, easy and intuitive configuration and data-viewing software will be made available for free download. This module delivers highly reliable data logging capabilities at fraction of the cost for a PC-based data acquisition system. The Data Logger Module is a one-time buy with no additional cost for software.
Lean proprietary firmware keeps data logging fast and secure. Using the Viewer Utility to monitor current data, ongoing events, logged events, and download logged files allows users to optimize their applications and increase production efficiency.
