Mitsubishi is proud to release the FX3U-2HC and FX3U-4LC Interfaces.
The FX3U-2HC is a new special function high speed counter module (SFM) that connects to the right-hand bus interface of the FX3U and FX3UC Series controllers. This interface is designed to read single and dual phase high speed differential-line-driver and open collector encoders up to 200KHz.
This interface also provides onboard high speed outputs that can be configured to operate independently of the scan of the CPU and can thus be easily integrated into high speed applications. This interface is ideal for the machine builder looking to interface additional high speed signals that cannot be easily satisfied from the main base unit.
The FX3U-4LC is an all new 4 channel temperature control special function module (SFM) that connects to the right-hand bus interface of the FX3G, FX3U and FX3UC Series controller. This interface is designed specifically to handle temperature control loops using an onboard processor executing PID (Proportional/Integral/Derivative) algorithms that are independent of the FXCPU. This interface connects to a wide range of temperature input signals including thermocouples and resistance thermometers. This interface is ideal for the machine builder looking for a simple and easy temperature control solution.
PK Series 2-Phase Stepping Motor – Expanded Lineup Now offers High Torque – High Efficiency Type
Oriental Motor USA is pleased to announce the PKE High Torque – High Efficiency type stepping motor, an industry leading new motor designed to provide maximum torque while creating efficiencies currently not available in the stepper motor market. The PKE motors produce the same amount of torque as our high torque PK-P type stepping motors while greatly reducing the heat generated, allowing for 100% duty cycle operation. On top of these significant benefits, it is aggressively priced to be the same as our PK-P motors.
How does the PKE achieve such a dominate position? The R&D engineers at Oriental Motor utilized new technology in the form of new materials, advanced stator and rotor design and new construction methods to achieve performance unlike any other stepping motor in the market. These advantages are also supported by a short lead-time, two types of winding options along with two driver options, if desired, for optimum guaranteed performance. In summary, the PKE 2 phase stepping motors provide more torque, saves energy and generate less heat than any conventional stepping motor on the market today with a competitive price. The time is now to introduce and demonstrate the advantages only Oriental Motor can offer.

Benefit of new motors:

- Lower motor losses → Lower motor heat generation
- Generates less heat – up to 78% (measured in °C) lower temperature rise when compared to a conventional stepping motor, when producing the same torque level. Running at rated current with 1.2 ~ 1.5 more torque, the PKE motor runs up to 50% cooler. This increases the service life of the motor, reduces the need for additional cooling and provides advantages to applications sensitive to thermal expansion.

The L Series debuts at the beginning of June 2010, and bridges the portfolio gap between the FX3 Series and iQ Platform with a high performance, modular, rack-free control architecture.
L Series configurations contain a single CPU packed with built-in features like Ethernet, standard SD/SDHC card memory, 24 connector-type I/O (16:8 Input/Output), Pulse Catch and Interrupt, High-Speed Counting up to 200Kpps, 2-axis Pulse-Positioning up to 200KHz, CC-Link (high-end CPU model only), and Data Logging.
This powerful unit can then be easily expanded using snap-on modules for additional digital I/O, analog I/O, Motion, Positioning, Serial Communication, and additional CC-Link Master/Slave interfaces. The L Series will also help usher in the all new CC-Link IE Field network, providing 1Gb data transmission over standard CAT5e cable with RJ45 connectors for controller-to-controller and remote I/O communication. L Series modules will be able to connect to a dedicated L Series CC-Link IE Field Slave Head Station, allowing a QnU CPU with CC-Link IE Field Master to control up to 254 stations in line, star, ring, or mixed topology.

High performance dual display amplifier with unprecedented stability and precision
The FX-500 is a highly advanced digital fiber sensor with high-end features and class-leading stability and performance. An exclusive detection ASIC, designed specifically for the FX-500, is capable of processing ultra high-speed calculations while offering a long sensing range. Due to the impressive capabilities of this sensor, high precision detections can now be carried out where they were previously not possible.
High Visibility Dual Digital Display

A highly visibility dual digital display allows for simultaneous viewing of the threshold and incident light values for quick and effective setup and usage. The display is large, bright, and has a wide viewing angle for easily reading values from a distance.
Direct Threshold Setting / Direct Teaching

Teaching the amplifier is now done through the RUN mode of the amplifier, simplifying the setup process down to two presses of the ‘set’ button. The user can also directly change the threshold value using the ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons.
New Super Quality Fibers

A new line of precision fiber optics are available that are designed to provide added stability to the FX-500 amplifier by diminishing part to part variance in intensity and fiber positioning.

High Stability
Each FX-500 unit is calibrated at the factory off a standard target to ensure that its digital value is constantly controlled, thus suppressing differences between amplifiers. When combined with our new super quality fibers, stability is maximized to ensure constant performance. This is critical in applications where any variations may cause false or non-detections.

HYPR Mode
The new HYPR mode that is incorporated in the FX-500 series allows for vastly increased detection distances with gains of up to 5.6x longer then the FX-301.

High Speed Detection
