This very compact 3-phase energy meter is provided with an innovative detachable, connector-less and battery-less display, which allows the user to configure the instrument for panel mounting (72 x 72mm) or DIN-rail mounting, either as an energy meter or a transducer.
Typically the transducer would only be DIN rail mounted, whereas the meter could be DIN rail mounted or panel mounted, therefore this is truly three energy devices in one housing.
The EM21 Series general purpose three phase energy meter is suitable for both active and reactive energy metering for cost allocation, but also for main electrical parameter measurement and retransmission (transducer function). Current measurements are carried out by means of external current transformers. Voltage measurements carried out either by means of direct connection (up to 400VLL) or by means of potential transformers.
The EM21 Series is provided with a pulse output for active energy retransmission. As an option, a two-wire RS485 communication port is also available. It is compact and easy to install, thanks to its application-oriented programming procedure, downloadable setup software and the wrong phase-sequence warning.
Some of the main technical features include:
- 72 x 72 x 65mm housing for both DIN-rail and panel mounting
- Detachable LCD display
- Instantaneous variables readout: 3 x 3 digits
- Energy metering readout: 7 digits
- Accuracy of ±0.5% RDG (V, A)
- For 1-phase (2 wire), 2-phase (3 wire), 3-phase (3, 4 wire, balanced,
- unbalanced) systems for up to 400VLL
- CT connection (5A), TRMS measurement method
- System variables: W, var, PF, Hz, kWh, kvarh (other variables available
- via RS485)
- Single phase variables: A, VLL, VLN, PF (other variables available via RS485)
- 1 pulse (opto-MOSFET) output (standard)
- RS485 port (optional)
- Self-powered supply voltage from mains
- IP50 protection degree (from the front)
- Class B according to EN50470-3 (class 1 of EN62053-21)
- Class 2 (kvarh) according to EN62053-23
- cUL listed, CE approved

This compact new safety controller complies with ISO13849-1 PLe and IEC61508 SIL3 safety standards.
The most suitable application of MELSEC-WS is to ensure safe operation of stand-alone machines or systems. To meet your system configuration, it allows you to have additional I/O points of up to 144. Also, you can easily make settings and create logic by using the Setting and Monitoring Tool exclusively provided for the controller.
The WS Safety Controller is programmed using dedicated Function Blocks, and benefits from enhanced diagnostic and communication features when used with EFI-enabled SICK Safety sensors and components. I/O can be expanded with slim-sized 8-in, 8-in/4-out, or 4-out relay modules to control up to 96 safety inputs and 48 safety outputs.
Quickly network the controller to standard control systems like the iQ Platform via Ethernet, and soon CC-Link. Easily replaced Memory Plugs allow users to interchange programs and parameters with ease. The dedicated WS Developer (Safety Controller Setting and Monitoring Tool) software is user-friendly and assists in all steps of development, from system configuration, to drag-and-drop programming, to simulation, and troubleshooting.

SMAC has developed next generation moving coil actuator LCA series designed to replace pneumatic cylinders with an expected 10 times improvement in cycle life over pneumatics and a competitive price starting at $500.
The LCA series is conceived as a complete series, like SMAC’s CA series. The first model in this series, the LCA25, has a small overall footprint 25mm (H) x 50mm (W) and length depending on stroke. Starting with stroke length of 10mm, the range will extend up to 100mm with encoder resolutions from 20 micron to 50 nanometer. With this level of accuracy the unit is especially useful for precise positioning and measuring. A slide option is available for scanning applications.
The LCA series have one and three coil versions that generate a force of 10N and 30N respectively with accelerations greater than 30G possible.
The LCA series is equipped with linear guide with built-in lubricant that gives >100,000,000 cycle expected life. This enables a reduction of down time and will significantly increase production efficiency. The actuator also has a low power consumption of 1.5 amps peak at 24V and 48V, making them highly energy efficient and very quiet compared to old pneumatic technology.
A “Snap Together” design controls tight tolerance stack-up to assure high product quality. There is no adjustment of parts during the assembly of the actuator and maximum tolerance stack-up is held to under 50% of allowable.
As with all SMAC actuators the LCA series are fully programmable in force, velocity and position mode. Further to this the SMAC patented ‘Soft-Land’ function is incorporated to allow delicate & controlled force when landing on fragile components. The actuators also give 100% data feedback of all operations as standard. Due to these unique features, no external switches or sensors are required to detect actuator movement or position.
Incorporated in the LCA series are SMAC’s proprietary linear encoders. These have been developed and field proven to be much more reliable than commercially marketed encoders.

This is the latest innovation added to our expanding GLS family of fork sensors and exemplifies the versatility STM is known for.
The GLS03BS fork sensor is designed for high speed quality control applications. When used with our V10 analog amplifiers the homogeneous light band creates an incredibly accurate thickness detection sensor with a resolution down to 0.1 mm and is ideal for detecting knots and other imperfections during the manufacturing process.
Fast moving threads or wires generate highly dynamic signal fluctuations in a conventional through beam sensor only from lateral oscillations which can hardly be differentiated from occurences like knots, material defects or splicings. Different with GLS03BS. The special optics provide for a very consistent lighting of the 4mm large sensing window. Despite the natural vibrations of the object the sensor produces a very even basic signal. Deviations in diameter generate distinct signal peaks on the amplifier output which can clearly be interpreted in shape and size.
· For the inline quality control on fast moving threads, wires or filaments
· To detect knots, material defects, splicings
· Object resolution better 100μm
· Glass protected optics
· Compact and robust design
· Can be combined with STM analog amplifier V10C or the new dynamic amplifier V10H
