CTC Parker Hannifin is pleased to announce the formal release and immediate availability of the latest update to our popular PA PowerStation family: The PA2 family.
PA2 units have been designed as drop in replacements for the current PA units and have been priced to make conversions easy. The current PA family will be obsoleted and the final PA shipments will occur on or before September 2, 2010.
The PA2 family PowerStations extend beyond the capabilities of the PA family with new improved CPU’s, more memory and TFT displays for all models. We’ve also added a new, no-display unit (the PA200V-133) that will help you in applications where a remote display is desired. Finally, the PA2 family now includes a full VGA 6” class unit, the PA206V-133 — which offers a TFT display at full VGA resolution, and is the perfect choice for replacing existing PA08 STN applications.
The PA2 family is being released in parallel with the latest version of Interact – version 7.0 and all PA2’s will ship with Interact version 7.0 pre-installed.
***Please note that PA2 PowerStations REQUIRE Interact version 7.0 to operate and an upgrade of existing development systems would be necessary***

Mitsubishi Electric Automation is proud to introduce an all new multi-drop solution for GOT1000 HMI’s.

At the heart of this new solution is an all new multi-drop master station interface, the GT01-RS4-M. The GT01-RS4-M is the head or master station of the RS485 HMI network used to connect terminals together. Users will connect the master station directly to the communication port of an FXCPU or QCPU using a simple communication cable.
Once connected, users will use simple 2 or 4 wire shielded twisted cable to make the interconnections between the master station and other HMI terminals on the RS485 network. When the network is complete, all the terminals on the network will be able to easily access the connected CPU from up 500m away.
The other major component used in this solution is the conversion adapter, the GT10-9PT5S. This adapter connects to the RS422/485 port of GT1040 and GT1050 displays and converts the existing 9pin DSUB port to RS485-friendly terminal style interface. This simple network can host up to 16 similar and dissimilar terminals and is ideal for configurations that require 3 or more displays.
Mitsubishi is pleased to be able to offer those machine builders who require a combination of displays for their machines (maybe a larger display for a portion of their machine with smaller terminals used as status indicators) a new cost effective solution for our HMI products.

These two water-proof panel PCs were designed to deal with the harsh and rugged environments that require sealed enclosures and optical bonding panels.
100% IP65 Protection: The whole system is sealed and all six sides of the chassis are IP65 certified. The FOX Series is completely dust and water-proof so there is no need for concern with chemical spills, loose particles, or even moisture.
Chemical Washable and Metal Corrosion-Resistant for applications that involve sugar, food, meat or medical operations, or where the systems must be washed or cleaned with harsh chemical liquids. The Fox units offer protection with either a liquid powder coating on Aluminum or a stainless steel housing to guarantee reliability regardless of chemical contact.
Both the FOX-151 and FOX-81 adopt the Intel® AtomTM N270 processor (up to 1.6GHz) and DDRII SODIMM system memory (up to 2GB). The low power consumption is one of the key features on both these models. In addition, both units deploy flexible I/O connectors, which are IP67 rated, water-proof connectors. AAEON specifically utilizes the M12 screw type connectors to prepare the FOX-151 and FOX-81 for severe environments and harsh applications. Both models also support optional 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet functions to provide faster network communication. Wireless LAN with dual internal antennas is an optional feature.
“The FOX-151 and FOX-81 not only offers anti-freeze protection & water proof operation under inclement weather conditions, but also a vandal-proof display for public venue applications. The LCD Optical bonding on the FOX units allows for low reflection and high contrast ratio to increase sunlight readability. The design of the LCD bonding also offers vibration absorption advantages and anti-fogging, which are all advanced features of the FOX-151 and FOX-81” says Owen Huang, Product Manager of Panel Appliance and Automation Division at AAEON. “The FOX-151 and FOX-81 features 15” and 8.4” TFT-LCD bonding respectively. AAEON uses the day and night mode display for power saving purpose and all characteristics of the FOX-151 and FOX-81 are user-friendly oriented designs.
The FOX-151 and FOX-81 offer mainstream operating systems, such as Windows Pro and Windows XP Embedded for easy OS compatibility. The LCD resolution of the FOX-151 is 1024 x 768 with 16.7M colors and 450nits luminance. The FOX-81 is 800 x 600 with 262K colors and typical 650 nits (450 nits luminance for different models). Both of the backlight MTBF is 50,000 hours.
Applications in harsh environments require low power consumption and high performance, which is ideal for our FOX-151 and FOX-81. Industries such as marine, aviation, and outdoor kiosks could benefit from the entire FOX Product line.

Mitsubishi Electric Automation is proud to introduce an all new series of displays for the GOT1000 platform, the GT12 Series. The GT12 Series in short, is an extension of the 4th generation GOT1000 platform that adds a new dimension for customers that specify complete Mitsubishi Solutions. In a market dominated by cost conscious decision makers, this new GOT series is being introduced to provide not only additional terminal and display options but now a cost effective alternative when decision makers shift their criteria from functionality to a cost basis.
This new series has been designed to interface solely with Mitsubishi products and enters the lineup to serve as Mitsubishi’s most cost effective HMI solution for display requirements between 8 and 10”. Terminals in this series come standard with an impressive feature set and many of the advance maintenance and debugging functions available in our more advanced GT16 and GT15 Series GOT products. Standard functions include multi-language and Unicode support, recipe and alarm management, security and password protection, data logging and historical trending, backup and restore capabilities, scripting and the multi-channel function. Customers can appreciate the design and execution of this latest HMI series and easily notice the similarities between the new GT12 Series and our recently released GT16 Series. The GT12 Series shares a lot of commonality with our existing platforms and offers a highly enhanced CPU and graphics engine, integrated communications (RS232/422/485/Ethernet/rear mounted USB), compact flash and 6MB of built-in flash memory. Models in this range are AC powered so users can find a numerous applications where these units will be desirable. The strategy to integrate all the essential interfaces, features and functions into a clever HMI package pays huge dividends for customers looking to eliminate hidden hardware costs and system complexity.
Another important advantage to mention about the GT12 Series is that models in this series come standard with a vivid 256 color TFT display that offers VGA resolution (640*480) in both an 8.4” and 10.4” model. This is quite an impressive point for a terminal targeted at other competitive front end solutions. We are very confident that our global customer base will simply fall in love with this cost effective visualization package so don’t let this great opportunity pass you by without gathering more information today. Please help us welcome our newest member to the GOT1000 family that provides the competitive advantage needed in today’s fierce environment. by Tim Lomax
