Archive for the ‘Ethernet Gateway’ Category

Many companies have third-party controllers and networks installed and Ethernet/IP is a common network in the United States and is growing in popularity in Canada and Latin America.
Although it is a fact that the family of CC-Link networks surpasses Ethernet/IP by installed nodes and global acceptance, there is still a need for Mitsubishi to have the ability to install controllers into facilities with existing Ethernet/IP networks.
The ETH-1000 is now available and allows our standalone motion controller to be placed on an Ethernet/IP network. Now the ETH-1000 communication gateway has been enhanced to allow MELSEC PLCs and PACs (Q, iQ and FX) to connect and share information between Ethernet/IP compatible PLCs. The gateway has a web interface to configure the device-to-tag map. No changes to either PLC program are required. Once this simple step is done the ETH-1000 will enable MELSEC controllers to send and receive information to and from Rockwell Automation, Omron and other third-party controllers that use Ethernet/IP for network connectivity. by Sloan Zupan
